Those who have managed to have success in the online market understand that if you want to make money online you need to set some goals for yourself. These are both long term and short term goals. Then you will need strategies to reach these goals, and no matter what happens you need to keep those strategies in mind and follow them. You have two strategies available to you to make money online, which are known as SEO and PPC.

Search Engine Optimization or SEO
SEO is a single technique or strategy, and you will use it for your long term goals rather than the short term. It takes a little longer to implement, and you will see results over time. Now some might become a bit discouraged with the amount of time it takes to do anything, but the best part about them is that you literally have to do nothing once you get your SEO implemented.

It sounds good, but how do you do it? No one ever said it was going to be easy, and that’s probably a good thing because you need to set certain keywords in the body of your website, and of course modify some meta tags. By doing this you will permit search engine crawlers to see your website more clearly and know where to place your website in the rankings.

The other form of SEO is offline. This is where you build inbound links (sites add your website to their pages without you having to reciprocate). You can do this through writing articles, commenting on do-follow blogs, forum posting, social network sites, social bookmark sites and more.

Pay Per Click for Faster Income
Sometimes you might find that you don’t want to make a passive income. If this is the case, then you will want to use PPC. PPC will generate quick traffic. Just make sure that you do it right, otherwise you will lose more money than you make, which isn’t the goal you had in mind when you started. There are courses available on PPC and you should take one before you begin.

No matter what you decide to do, make sure you keep a good record of everything that you do. Look at your records and determine what works and what doesn’t work. You will need to throw out the strategies that fail, and don’t give up. There will be many things to learn, and you must always keep an open mind.

So long as you do it right, you will find that internet marketing is fun, as the effort to make money online. Make yourself a schedule that you adhere to, and always keep your goals in mind. Remember that there is no law that says you have to do either SEO or PPC. You can do both if you so desire! Using them both in harmony will generate you a steady stream of income.
